Although we have so many examples, how does the process of inspiration and creation between child and parent, child and artist begin? Just as the artist is influenced by his environment, the artist is influenced by his environment. What does it mean for a child to have an artist for a mother? The works exhibited here are based on the integration of Judit Horváth Lóczi's art into everyday life. As a mother of three children, Judit does not only create in the quiet solitude of her studio, her art is part of the family's life. Art in its many forms is a constant source of entertainment and occupation in their family life, and in addition to the fine arts, literature, music and sports are all important, consciously developed recreational and leisure activities for the whole family. The last few years have brought many changes to our lives, and during the pandemic period our daily lives have changed drastically. We have coped with the sudden changes, the stress of unpredictability, the fear, by different means, or by letting our thoughts take over. For the Horváth Lóczi family, the solution was to cling to a consciously constructed meaningfulness, a richness and expressive freedom in the arts. Creating together, this form of self-expression and the inspiration of artistic impressions brought a new aspect to the whole family's life. The boys had been interested in their mother's art before, but creating together opened up a new space for them, the possibility of individual artistic taste, worldview and thinking. They started to make drawings and Lego pictures on their own, which they thought were similar to Horváth Lóczi's creations. The works are very apt, the children see their mother and their mother's art with surprising vividness. From there, the process of joint artistic creation was a given, with Lóczi Horváth using the children's images, first painting them in his own interpretation, then turning them into objects and finally an exhibition that captures the cycle of this dialogue, self-knowledge and exploration and knowledge of each other in the form of artworks. For Judit, it was liberating and inspiring to see her children reach out to art and interpret her creations with such freedom and creativity. They were involved in the process throughout, Lóczi Horváth involved them and a collaborative, playful family effort based on creation and each other was the birth of the exhibition material.
The Family Business exhibition gives an insight into the inner creative world of a family, where art is not just an individual expression, but a shared game, dialogue and experience. Rarely do we have the opportunity to see so directly how an artistic process evolves across family relationships and generations, how parents and their children shape each other's thinking and vision. As we watch the interplay between the works, the dialogue between the child's vision and the artist's reflection, we can not only observe this intimate process, but also draw inspiration from it ourselves. How can art be part of everyday life? How can it become the common language of a family, where creativity is not just an individual journey but a shared discovery and expression? The exhibition invites us to rethink the place of art in our lives - not just within the walls of an exhibition space, but in our own homes, in our family relationships, in the joy of creating together, connecting, shaping and enriching us.

How does your private life affect your work? As a freelancer, how well can we separate work and private life? Or are the two inevitably intertwined? In this event, the artist and the curator will discuss the theme of the exhibition and how this question is reflected in the creative and curatorial process.
