Andrea Csekő & Fruzsina Kun
We are all pink on the inside
10 October - 15 November 2024
Opening: 9 October, Wednesday 18:00
The We are all pink on the inside brings together two emerging contemporary Hungarian artists, Andrea Csekő and Fruzsina Kun.
Csekő Andrea born in 1996 in Szekszárd. He graduated in painting from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2021. He thinks of fine art as a form of communication, playing with both plane and space in his paintings, but recently he has put more emphasis on experimenting with colour. He is interested in how vision can be controlled within the picture plane.
Kun Fruzsina born in 1976 in Pécs. He graduated from the Hungarian University of Fine Arts in 2000 and has been an active exhibiting artist since then. During his career he has participated in numerous group and solo exhibitions, including in Budapest and Pécs. Visual limitations and problems of clarity of vision are central to her art, often using colourful and suggestive techniques.
Andrea Csekő's abstract, geometric forms hover on the borderline between nature and structural elements. In her works, the repetition of rectangles and the orderly and free-forming shapes evoke sensual movement. His compositions oscillate between sensations and structures, displaying a delicate balance inspired by nature as chaos meets order.
At the same time, Fruzsina Kun's sensual, intensely coloured works of art lead us into deep psychological layers. Her paintings evoke the inner world of the body with a cavalcade of pinks and reds. The viewer is both attracted and repelled by the layered, tactile surfaces of the works. Fruzsina Kun's works create a kind of ambivalent tension that awakens curiosity and hidden emotions.
The two artists are in dialogue in the exhibition space, with Csekő's structures and Kun's organic compositions creating a harmonious yet exciting contrast. The central idea of the exhibition is the exploration of the inner world of man, which is expressed in different ways in the works of both artists, yet offers the visitor a common perceptual and emotional experience.
This exhibition invites you on a journey where geometric and organic representations of inner worlds merge to create a unique artistic experience of emotion and perception.
The exhibition was supported by the National Cultural Fund of Hungary.
