Judit Horváth Lóczi’s exhibition, presented in the spaces of the iconic Hotel Clark Budapest and Leo Bistro at the foot of the Chain Bridge, draws attention to the personal and healing power of art. Art is Therapy is not merely the title of the exhibition but a defining starting point of the artist’s creative thinking. For Horváth Lóczi Judit, the act of creation is an inner process and a path toward self-knowledge — a tool through which personal experiences, memories, and emotions can be processed, shaped, and reinterpreted.
In her artistic practice, this inner work often appears as a direct response to changes in the world and to everyday life situations. For the artist, the physical and intellectual labour of the creative process serves as a way of processing everyday challenges, transforming difficulties into visual structures that open up space for shifts in perspective and the creation of new contexts.
One of the key starting points of the exhibition is the Quarantine series, created during the first pandemic lockdowns. The suddenly transformed world, the uncertainty, and the shocking experience of the time led the artist toward intensified creative work, while the pieces themselves became visual imprints of both personal and collective experiences.
Another central body of work in the exhibition is the Family Business series, which highlights that motherhood and artistic practice are not opposing roles. As a mother of three, the artist naturally integrates art and creative activity into everyday family life, making the creative process itself part of this shared environment. In this series, drawings and visual observations by her children served as inspiration, which the artist transforms into paintings and spatial works. Through this dialogue, she makes visible the intertwining of artistic practice and daily life. The series explores how creative activity can become integrated into personal space while reflecting on the interaction between a child’s perspective and artistic interpretation.
The title Art is Therapy thus functions as both a personal statement and a broader reflection. In a time shaped by social, environmental, and political tensions, art can serve as a transformative tool that helps process and interpret experiences while supporting mental balance.
The exhibition is realised through the collaboration of The Space Art Gallery and artNESZ Fine Art Agency, as part of the cultural event series ART CORNER by Clark & Leo. Initiated by Hotel Clark Budapest and the ground-floor Leo Bistro, the program aims to integrate contemporary visual art into the living fabric of the city and create new meeting points between art and the public.
