Györgyi CSÉFFAI
"My work combines the storytelling power of folk culture and the interactivity of contemporary art. Working with ceramics and other natural materials, my aim is to bring ancient beliefs, motifs and folk tales to life in contemporary form. I believe that shared experience and the immediacy of natural materials can reveal the timelessness of traditions in a new context, while creating new forms of human connection.
Among my works are installations that are completely destroyed, which in time decompose and return to the material world. Lately, however, I have increasingly been working to create lasting works that carry this sensibility in a different way.
I am particularly interested in the interactive nature of art. It is important to me that the audience is an active part of the creative process, so that we can experience the emotions and effects of the work together. Viewer reactions inspire me and open up new perspectives for me, constantly shaping my artistic vision."
