My main motivation in painting is cognition, so the question condition plays an important role in my creative method. The question I ask when making a particular work does not always become visible in the final result, but rather serves as a starting point for an investigation. In parallel, I think of visual art as a form of communication. I play with both plane and space in my paintings, but recently I have been putting more emphasis on experimenting with colour. I am interested in how vision can be controlled within the picture plane.
