"In my practice, I explore the role of gesture in sculpture—an element that has long held significant importance in painting, yet has received less attention within sculptural discourse. Unlike painting, where gestures are captured on the surface in their immediacy and lightness, in sculpture the fixation of a gesture’s singularity presents a greater technological challenge. For this reason, I primarily work with forged iron, striving to preserve the traces of the forming process. These gestures emerge during the making of the sculpture; they are not constructed but rather accidental, allowing space for the material’s own agency. They contribute to each work taking on a unique and unrepeatable form. At the same time, my work investigates the question of what constitutes the minimal gesture — the smallest intervention necessary for raw material to transform into sculpture.”
