Lóránt Méhes Zuzu
1951, Szabadszállás
Zuzu Lóránt Méhes is one of the most significant artists of Hungarian photorealist painting, one of the initiators of Hungarian installation art and a prominent representative of the esoteric spiritual movements of the 1980s and 1990s.
For people familiar with Hungarian art in the past decades, Zuzu's name may be synonymous with Hungarian avant-garde art. As a member of the Budapest section of the Lajos Vajda Vajda Studio in Szentendre, Zuzu is a painter who has proven his talent in many artistic fields. His works are mainly on the borderline of hyperrealism and surreal abstraction. A distinctive feature of all his works is that they are influenced by the pop sensibility of the Hungarian underground.
The playfulness of his work and his art, which has been going on for decades, and the unbridled serenity that radiates from Zuzu's whole personality, show the way: how to live joyfully and effortlessly.
